About the role:
We are seeking a Head of Commercial Partnerships to lead the commercial development of our global projects. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you will be the primary bridge between our pioneering technology and the external organizations that make carbon removal possible.
This is not a traditional business development role focused solely on acquisition; it is a high-stakes relationship management and project structuring role. As the commercial lead for these partnerships, you will be accountable for the commercial terms and contract negotiation, collaborating with legal and engineering to build the foundational agreements required to mineralize CO2 at scale.
The successful candidate is a strategic and execution-focused leader who thinks out of the box to solve problems and perseveres to get the job done.
What you’ll do:
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain deep, long-term relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including industries, waste management companies, and industrial gas companies.
• Project Commercialization: Work closely with internal engineering and project teams to design and structure commercial proposals for mineralization projects that meet customer needs.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead the end-to-end process of building, negotiating, and closing complex commercial agreements such as CO2 offtake contracts.
• Legal & Risk Collaboration: Work closely with legal teams to draft and finalize agreements that protect 44.01’s interests while fostering partnership growth.
• Strategic Execution: Develop and implement strategies for mineralization sinks globally, with an immediate priority on our core operations in the UAE and Oman.
• Hands-on Leadership: Actively manage assets and quality control across the CO2 value chain, ensuring all streams meet the technical requirements of our customers.
Who you are:
• Experienced Leader: You possess 10+ years of experience in business development, project structuring, strategic partnerships, or a similar commercial field.
• Technically Grounded: You have an engineering background (education or professional experience) that allows you to translate technical project requirements into commercial reality.
• Expert Negotiator: You have a proven track record of closing complex deals with multi-layered private entities.
• Mobile & Adaptable: You are comfortable with frequent travel to meet partners and internal teams in the field.
• Project Driven: You have experience in project development and are comfortable navigating the fast-paced, "fail-fast" environment of a highgrowth startup.
What Success Looks Like
• You successfully bridge the gap between "interest" and "action," to secure signed commercial agreements.
• You are the primary, trusted point of contact for customers, ranging from operations managers to facility CEOs.
• You act as a seamless translator between our internal engineering teams and our customers.
• You take immediate ownership of existing projects at various stages of maturity, unblocking them through hands-on leadership and frequent travel to partner sites.
• You move beyond individual deals to create a replicable partnership model that supports 44.01's global expansion.
